STATUS EFFECT IDEA GIGATHREAD
From what I noticed, it's really hard to come up with new ability item suggestions, especially for abilities like orbs and scepters, making them balanced and new, that is mostly because some of the existing status effects can be very extreme for certain abilities.
What I mean is, for example, making a tome that makes everyone's defense better would be hard mostly because armored doubles the defense and a tome that would do that would be over powered,
a scepter that armor breaks would be overkill too.
So I propose a solution, something that will help the community create new ability items.
MORE STATUS EFFECTS.
Remember the tome I used as an example a few lines ago?
How about a buff that increases defense by 20%, instead of the way armored does it?
That would make it less overpowered and maybe balanced.
Name: Defensive / Protection
Effect: 20% or 10% or 25% more defense.
NOTE: Overwritten by the Armored buff (which means that the buff is deleted when the player gets the Armored buff)
Name: Cracked Armor
Effect: Defense is decreased.
Note: Overwritten by Armorbreak debuff.
Effect: Damage done by projectiles is decreased by 20%
Note: This is simply making it affect bosses.
Name: Arcane Power
Effect: Damage done by abilities is 10% greater, and the effect of buffing abilities is 10% greater.
How this would work: Oreo would make you invulnerable for 1.65 seconds instead of 1.5, and for example poisons and shurikens would do more damage. The 10% ability effect buff does not affect damage dealing abilities like quivers, shields, shurikens, scepters, traps, spells, skulls and others, in other words, a trap that paralyze would not paralyze longer, just do more damage.
Name: Mana instability
Effect: When inflicted upon the player, he is unable to use his ability for a certain amount of time.
But Marty, what if people stack all of these buffs at once on a boss, won't that make it super
I would call this phenomena THE MASS DEBUFF STACKING, which could be dealt with by making certain bosses immune to certain debuffs and there should also be a limit of debuffs that a player and/or enemy can have at once.
Feel free to suggest more status effects in this thread, you have to follow the format used in the current suggested status effect. If you do it right I will include it in the main thread and credit you.

Just a bit confused with the Arcane Power buff, since you said shurikens and poisons would do more damage, but then said the buff doesn't affect damage dealing abilities?
@Wizardism What I meant was, that if for example a quiver projectile paralyzes enemies, the buff will only make that quiver do more damage, it will not affect it's paralyze debuff time.

could we get a debuff that isnt very common but causes all enemies to target you for a short amount of time?
