Sinister Khanjar [Experimental Poison Idea]
Please note that this isn't like the Poison assassins use. It's an attempt to branch away from the normal boring assassin play.
For those who are unaware what a Khanjar is, it is a sacrificial blade that is curved in like a hook. Also yes, some do have gaurds on them.
Also please note this is for Assassin.
Thank you turtlebat for your revision of the sprite!
Name: Sinister Khanjar
Desc: Commonly used against a sinner, or sacrifice, to appease the gods, yet this dark embodiment of holy betrayal instead serves as a warning to Oryx himself. Thanks to Turtlebat and Pringle!
Stats: +2vit +2wis
Shot Size: 100
Shot Rotation: 0
Min. Damage: 265
Max. Damage: 275
Mana Cost: 30
Cooldown: 0.5 Seconds
Arc Gap: 0
Armor Piercing? [✔]
Ignores Obstacles? [✖]
Fame Bonus: 4%
Drop Location & Chance: Lord Ruthven and Coffin (0.4%) [0.004]
Bag Type: 6 (White)
How is it unique: Changes the entire play style of Assassin.
How is it balanced: Uses the Damage/Mana formula of the t6 poison (8.18dmg/1mp) plus around ten to fifteen damage on each side. Can't get much more balanced than using a prod formula for an ability.
Why?: Deals instant damage rather than over time damage. Doesn't have the area of affect of poisons, so you wouldn't use this against groups. Great mid-low difficulty boss killing and wonderful against slow/stationary bosses. Also it makes you feel pretty badass when using it.
Looks hard to code!: Don't say this. This shouldn't be hard to code at all.
Looks like cutlass: Khanjars are commonly made with expensive materials with decorated jeweled hilts. Unlike Cutlass, this has a silver blade and a blue gem, different hue of gold and brown, and is curved more with a slimmer blade.
If you have any criticism, please keep it constructive.
Pretty much I got bored so I wanted to make an item idea I had on the top of my head. I hope ya'll like it. Enjoy.
shading needs a little work, but I love this sprite
I want it
Good idea too +1
I was just thinking that manor needs more whites, and this is definitely something that would work. 1+
Thank you, glad you like it.
Thank you for your version of the sprite. I like it a lot!
@Pringle stares at the screen waiting to see the RoF
@Night-Owl Pfft, you should be looking for Cooldown instead. ;o
Had to fix the sprites again for the 6,000th time because site keeps going on and off.
@Pringle I thought this was a sword at first
@CosmicPet I tried my best to add "Poison" and "Assassin Ability" everywhere to break up any confusion.
@Pringle So this is kind of like a ninja star on an assassin right?
@CosmicPet Kind of in the fact that it shoots a projectile.
@Pringle if u added 2 shots and bleeding for like 3 seconds to your self. that would be a cool idea but nice sprite
@CosmicPet I could of, but I want to keep the idea simple yet effective. Still, that would be interesting. might be OP if that's all I did though.
@Pringle It would be like the janus trap
@CosmicPet It could, but I don't really like the janus trap. I think the best choice here is to keep it simple.
The only thing really linking it to the janus trap would be the fact that it causes self bleed anyways, seeing as this took the turn from AoE to Projectile.
@Pringle keep venting creativity
thanks for linking in discord, +1
I don't get it.. why would anyone choose to play asssassin for this.. if I was gonna buy this, I would just make a ninja instead?!? Cheaper. cost and more damage lol
@Nightslayer This is not so people would play assassin it is so people have a range of weapons to use as assassin.
Their poison was also ranged...?
@Nightslayer Unlike the Ninja Star, this is more of a cost effective spellblade.
No speedy so It's easier to aim for nearly anybody
If you are under, let's say, 100 mp with the t6 star, you couldn't shoot again. You could with this.
Less burst damage, so if you miss it doesn't hinder you as badly.
You don't lose extra mana from slightly holding it down. Garenteed 30 every time.
Even if you were to compare it to the t6 shuriken, their formulas aren't that far off.
(9 dmg/MP) T6 Shuriken
(8.18 dmg/MP) Khanjar
Which if you had to spam it against a boss, the Khanjar would end with outdamaging it due to the possible extra 3-2shots.
This is a swichable option. You don't 'just get this', you have the ability to change to a poison when you need it.
Don't forget armor ignore!
TL;DR: Reliable, forgiving, cost effective, very strong, swapable, and more uses.
Could possibly even be used in Glands to wipe out gods quickly, if you wanted to.
This makes the Assassin like the Blade Master?
I can't say that I like the idea, but that's my own problem, as far as ideas go, this is good. +1
@SEXUAL-AF I thought It'd be nice on assassin due to assassin, for the lack of better anything,
Being the most boring class in the entire world.
It's nice to have something to spice Assassin up, and one of the biggest things he lacks in his ability is instant damage. I understand that some people wouldn't like it though, for instance some guy earlier said he wanted it to be like Janus Trap, and I hate that trap and everything it stands for. Just differing opinions which is A-OK.
But thanks for your criticism!
@Pringle I don't like the idea because it's so far out of the norm. But I don't run this server so it's not my call. (You should make a throwable heal for the Assassin too, like +150 hp/3 secs for like 175 mp)
@SEXUAL-AF I think everybody in NR should encourage items 'far out of the norm'. It opens up room for creativity and originality in characters that desperately need it. I would consider it, but theres already a healing poison I think. (the bile, right?)
UH Poison is just a stronger t6 and Bile heals you when you nearly never need it.
Some sparkling originality and use you got there, Assassin.
@Pringle I didn't mean that the poison would heal only you, I meant you could throw it out like a normal poison to heal allies, of course if you were in the circle you would get healed too but it's more like a team heal which would make the Assassin like a better priest as you don't really need to be close to someone to heal them. (That's why I gave it the high Mp cost)
